4th Grade Performance: Music Though the Decades

A Musical Time Machine: 4th Grade Takes the Stage!

Last night, the Cafeteria was transformed into a jukebox of memories as our talented 4th graders presented their highly anticipated concert, "Music Through the Decades." It was an evening filled with nostalgia, high energy, and enough rhythm to keep the audience tapping their toes from start to finish.

The choir took us on a whirlwind tour of music history, showcasing an impressive range of styles and languages. The setlist featured:

  • La Bamba: A high-octane trip to the 1950s that got the energy flowing.
  • Surfin’ USA: The students brought the 1960s California sunshine indoors with perfect harmonies.
  • ABC: A groovy 1970s tribute to the Jackson 5 that had the crowd resisting the urge to jump up and dance.
  • Don’t Worry, Be Happy: A 1980s crowd favorite that showcased the choir’s ability to capture a mellow, feel-good vibe.
  • Como la Flor: A beautiful, soulful tribute to the 1990s Queen of Tejano, Selena, which served as a stunning emotional peak for the show.

The Voices of the Show: Hosts and Soloists

While the entire choir sounded magnificent, the performance was held together by our fantastic 4th-grade hosts. These student narrators guided the audience through the years with poise, humor, and clear voices, providing the historical context that made each song special. Stepping up to a microphone to speak in front of a packed room is no small feat, and they handled it like seasoned pros.

Our amazing 4th grade student hosts!

We also have to give a massive round of applause to our brave soloists. Taking the spotlight to sing a verse on your own requires immense courage. These individuals stepped up and shined brightly, adding a layer of personal magic to the collective harmony of the group.

A Big Thank You to Our Music Teacher

We wanted to give a huge shout out to our lovely music Teacher, Mrs. Jones! The "Music Through the Decades" performance was a wonderful reminder of how music connects us across generations and could not have happened without your continuous hard work in selecting the right songs and teaching the students their lyrics and choreography. Congratulations to you and the 4th grade for their hard work and for giving us a show we won't soon forget!

Our amazing music teacher.
